How We Have Progressed

We originally grew bonsai. Our careful, affectionate, long-term methods enabled us to receive praise and commendation, including the Prime Minister’s Award. However, as the Iwatabara area is perfect for tea, we branched out into tea production in 1995. We utilized our knowledge of soil management and timber cultivation to found Shizukaen. Our goal has been to foster the production of 100% Iwatabara origin unblended tea with our local tea farmers. This aim helped us to receive the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ Award for Best Deep Roasted Green Tea at the Japanese National Tea Championship. We endeavor to make Iwatabara the largest area for tea production by working and studying hard to carefully make the best.
