Flawless Tea Production
100% Pure Tea Grown in Iwatabara

In Iwatabara, where our tea farms are located, the shape of the land leads to excellent drainage, and the fertile red-yellow soil makes it ideal for cultivating tea, which is why it is the leading area for tea production in Shizuoka.
We at Shizukaen only use leaves grown in Iwatabara, which we produce in our own factory and sell ourselves.
We pride ourselves on not blending our leaves with those grown in any other area.
We give you tea that is 100% Iwatabara-grown.

Working to Bring Out the Best in Our Tea

Our aim is to make the most delicious tea in Japan.
That has been our motto from the start.

In order to grow good tea leaves, the most important thing is to create fertile earth. We produce fertilizer which is mainly an organic compound of fish and vegetable meal. We calculate the frequency and the timing to fertilize the earth in order to generate high quality soil. We regularly patrol the farm to check the plants’ health, and strictly limit the spraying of pesticides in the pursuit of safety. We strive to grow thick-leaved, rich-tasting healthy tea plants.

We want others to enjoy tea at its best, and value our ties to our contract farmers who grow tea which meets our requirements. We know the who, where, when and how of our tea production, and we are determined to continue developing quality, healthy tea.

Choosing Local Contract Farmers and Making Single-Origin Tea

A lot of teas on the market today are a blend of leaves from different areas. As we aim to provide you with the unique taste of Iwatabara, we use tea picked on our local farms, processed and shipped from our own factory. We’re proud that our tea is not blended in any way, but is purely, absolutely, 100% Iwatabara single-origin tea grown by our contract farmers.

Safe Tea Production for Both People and Nature

Traceability and ASIAGAP Certification
First and foremost, it’s important that our customers be able to enjoy our tea safely. At Shizukaen we employ a traceability system, allowing us to track product information from field to manufacturing. We know on which farm the leaves were harvested and what agrochemicals were used. In order to further promote food and environmental safety, we also received ASIAGAP certification. We firmly believe in checking the production process in detail to allow our customers to relax and enjoy our tea.
